Performance Golf

|
According to statistics nearly 50% of golfers eventually suffer from a golf related injury. Most people will not prepare or condition their body for golf. They just play. They will show up minutes before their tee off time and bash the golf ball around for 18 holes. If they cannot play a round of golf, they will go to a driving range and repetitively hit golf balls. No warm up, no stretching.... just playing 18 holes or just hitting balls at the range. Ball after ball after ball.
The average person can swing there club 90mph. Amateur golfers achieve approximately 90% of their peak muscular activity when driving a golf ball. This is the same intensity as picking up a weight that can be lifted 4 times before total fatigue.
And that's just one swing!
Over an 18 hole game a golfer may swing at this intensity about 50 times. In addition to this "Grip it & Rip it" approach a majority of golfers will have pre-existing postural dysfunctions, spinal problems, and poor flexibility. When you add this up if there was a recipe for injury this would be it.
